myLot Discussions on japanese american movie| Am I d only 1 hu thinks they need to stop makin Japanese & American characters? | | I'm not trying to be racist or something but I think street fighter already have enough American and Japanese characters. It was supposed to be an international martial arts tournament. Japanese and Chinese people are not the only Asians in Asia, Why dont they represent the other Asian countries as well. For the Black and Caucasian characters they can get representative from Europe and Africa instead of America.also the only Latino characters we have are 2 Mexicans, How about the other Latinos.I,love the already made Japanese and American characters, i think there is no more need to add their population. Take for instance the internment of japanese americans by FDR in 1942, which is 100% violation of the Constitution. To make matters worse in 1944 the Supreme Court ruled the administration action were fully Constitution, all be it that FDR had packed the court with judges that believed that the Constitution did not limited the Federal government in any way. I am sure by now some of you have watched a few of those census commercials. There is the one that has, in my opinion, the lame jingle, We can't move forward until you mail it make. Last name I was watching the NCAA basketball tournament, and this commercial came on. While they were signing their little jingle I remembered what happened to the Japanese-Americans back in the 40's.
February 19, 1942 President Roosevelt issued Executive Order 9066 which imprisoned over 100,000 Japanese-American. The federal government used information provided by the 1940 census to aid in the internment of these American. We are told that “the data obtained from the census are protected under United States privacy laws.” Yeah how did that work for the Japanese-American?

I am Japanese-American and she is Norwegian-American - we had many crazy adventures way back when - the best of friends. Then she got married and moved away . . . we just lost touch. She had a very common name, so finding her was impossible. In late 2008, I thought I found her husband on Facebook, so I messaged him. It was indeed him, but it turns out they were divorced in the mid 90's. He said they were not in contact, but gave me a lead in finding her. That was mighty nice of him - he was very pleasant. He also wrote quite a bit in Japanese - I never knew he knew the language - but I was impressed how cool it was that he used it. So later in 2009, I at last found my friend! I later told her about how I found her ex-hubby and the lead he gave me . . . and she told me the whole bitter story of their marriage. They divorced only 5 years after their marriage - they needed to go separate ways. He once told her he always wanted an Asian wife (which she was not) - but an odd thing to say to your wife, right?
